The Menopause Revolution: A Quiet Uprising of the Feminine

There was a time not so long ago when women’s hormonal shifts were spoken about in hushed tones. Wrapped in silence, shame and oppression, this natural stage of life was treated as something to endure quietly, something inconvenient, something to hide. Menopause became a punchline, a taboo, a mystery, even to those going through it.
But beneath the surface, something powerful has always stirred. A knowing. A wisdom. A deeper truth that this is not just a medical moment or an inevitable decline, but a profound rite of passage. One that deserves reverence, not ridicule.
What we are seeing now is not just a change in conversation. It is an awakening. A quiet but undeniable revolution. And it speaks not only to the hormonal shifts in our bodies, but to a wider rising of the feminine, the return of wholeness, our true nature, and the healing of what has long been dismissed.
The Great Silence: When a Flawed Study Changed Everything
In the early 2000s, one major study, later discredited, sparked fear and confusion around HRT. Almost overnight, doctors stopped prescribing it. Women were taken off it. Millions were left to suffer, often quietly and often ashamed. The physical symptoms were brutal, but the psychological and emotional impact cut even deeper. Being told it was normal, being expected to just cope, left many women feeling desperate.
This wasn’t just a medical misunderstanding. It was a quiet and indirect form of oppression. One that told women to be grateful, to get on with it, that this is all simply part of life as a woman. A message that, in both subtle and not-so-subtle ways, suggested our wellbeing did not matter. That we should stay quiet, put up with it, and carry on.
The Resurgence: Truth, Choice and Coming Back to Ourselves
Now the tide is turning. The science has evolved. Safer, smarter, bioidentical hormones are available. Women are speaking up, sharing stories and demanding better care. The medical world is slowly beginning to wake up, but there are still large pockets of the old ignorance present. Places where women are dismissed, underdiagnosed, or mis-medicated with antidepressants or beta blockers. I’ve heard of women being berated for weight gain, put on strict diets, sent for shoulder surgery, or even having their wombs removed, all without anyone stopping to explore whether their symptoms were connected to hormonal changes.
This isn’t about stepping into the role of a doctor, it’s about speaking the truth of what so many women are quietly living through. This transition deserves more than silence and blanket or blind diagnoses. It calls for understanding, support and choice. We are finally honouring what many of us have always sensed — that menopause is not something to endure, but a passage to move through with power, presence and deep care.
Because in many ways, the dismissal and mistreatment of women’s hormonal health today is no better than the asylums we were once sent to in the Middle Ages, or the pills women were prescribed in the sixties to “calm her down.” Different methods, same message. You are crazy. Let’s just put you somewhere you won’t bother us — instead of paying proper attention and offering effective, adequate care.
The Wise Woman Returns
Our bodies were originally designed to live until menopause, not much longer. Yet here we are, living decades beyond it, often without the hormonal support we need to stay well. When estrogen, progesterone and testosterone decline, our systems can begin to break down. That is not personal weakness. It is biology.
And in a world where we welcome the convenience of online shopping, washing machines and robot vacuums, why are we still so resistant to the idea of receiving medical support for our wellbeing? Why is it still seen as indulgent to feel good, to want more from life, to be well, strong and nourished?
Since we are blessed to live in a time where our lives are prolonged by the developments of science, technology and medicine, we have the choice to use it to our advantage. Not out of vanity or fear, but out of reverence for the life we still have to live.
There is no glory in unnecessary suffering. We are allowed to thrive.
The Age of Aquarius and the Rise of the Feminine
This isn’t just about hormones. This is about liberation. The Age of Aquarius is upon us, inviting a collective shift into truth, clarity and conscious awakening. It is a time when veils are thinning and deeper truths are rising to the surface. The Divine Feminine, long buried beneath centuries of suppression, is re-emerging with strength and grace. She is no longer willing to be silenced, shamed or pushed aside.
But this is not a rejection of the masculine. It is a call to heal the imbalance. For too long, we have lived in systems shaped by dominance, force and denial of the body’s natural wisdom. The Aquarian Age is guiding us back to union. Not just between each other, but within ourselves. The inner masculine and feminine, logic and intuition, action and receptivity, are all seeking harmony.
Menopause, and how we move through it, reflects this larger pattern. It is not a personal fault line, but part of the global feminine awakening. The more we honour our bodies, our rhythms and our needs, the more we heal the collective split. This isn’t just about personal wellness. It is about restoring wholeness across generations.
